In fact, lots of old friends make a return in MORTAL SINS, and believe me, there is never a dull moment. Readers are also treated to plenty of Toby, a carefree and curious young boy who is very wise for his age. Rule is the character who struggles the most throughout the story, both with his instinct to protect Toby, and his role in the Nokolai clan. Sometimes this causes tension between him and Lily, but she's more than capable of telling Rule when he needs to chill out.
