Paranormal Romantic Suspense

Halo, North Carolina ~~ Present Day

In North Carolina with her love and mate Rule Turner, FBI Agent Lily Yu's serene vacation is interrupted by a gruesome murder. A member of the Magical Crimes Division, Lily has her own unique talents that help her to see the death magic which surrounds the victims. Though the local police already have the suspect in custody, Lily knows something is off. In the course of her investigation, Lily learns that there is an entity floating over this small town that even the ghosts fear. But death isn't the only thing Lily is dealing with right now. She's also learning to accept her role with Rule's son, Toby, who will soon be in their custody, and who is experiencing the beginnings of the lupus Change far too early.

As Lu Nuncio of the Nokolai clan, Rule also has a lot on his plate. His mate bond with Lily is as strong as ever, but the wolf inside him is having a hard time accepting his love's influence on his son. Rule knows this is because he never had a mother, and he's having to tamper down his resentment towards Lily. Wolf politics have never been Rule's thing either, but he's going to have to get more involved when it turns out that Toby's imminent Change could be fatal. The murders have also caught the attention of the press, and the last thing he needs is the media hounding him and Lily while they're in the middle of a custody hearing with Toby's mother.

Together, Lily and Rule must not only figure out how to raise a nine-year-old lupus, but also find out what is tearing this sleepy town apart from the inside.

Lily and Rule are caught up by MORTAL SINS in Eileen Wilks's latest paranormal tale. Everybody's favorite magical agent is back in what has to be one of the most bizarre cases she's ever run across. The death magic surrounding the victims and their killers makes no sense to Lily since none of them were Gifted, so she has to call in the big guns for help, and sorcerer Cullen Seabourne always makes the ladies swoon. In fact, lots of old friends make a return in MORTAL SINS, and believe me, there is never a dull moment. Readers are also treated to plenty of Toby, a carefree and curious young boy who is very wise for his age. Rule is the character who struggles the most throughout the story, both with his instinct to protect Toby, and his role in the Nokolai clan. Sometimes this causes tension between him and Lily, but she's more than capable of telling Rule when he needs to chill out.

Eileen Wilks delivers again with a gripping and suspenseful tale of love and magic with MORTAL SINS. Don't miss it!
