ITALIAN BABY SHOCK – Jackie Ashenden Lark Edwards arrives in Italy to meet with tycoon Cesare Donati about selling his antiques through her employer’s business. This is her first overnight trip since her daughter was born, and the first return trip to Italy since her accident which left her unable to remember the night when her child was conceived. Right from the moment Cesare steps into the room he is hostile toward her. She can’t understand his reaction to her—until she lifts her phone to respond to a call from her daughter’s babysitter. Spotting the picture on her phone, Cesare demands to know what kind of game she’s playing because it turns out her daughter looks like his side of the family. When Lark walked into the room, Cesare recognized her immediately from their night together two years ago. She disappeared the next day and he chalked it up to her getting what she wanted: sex with him. But to learn she has a daughter—and that he’s likely the father—stuns him. Cesare never planned to marry or have children because of the terrible legacy created by his parents that ended with their deaths. After finding out about Maya, Cesare will do whatever it takes to bring his child into his life, and this includes Lark. But while he might offer Lark his last name and wealth, he has no plans to ever do the one thing she wants from him: love her. It certainly was a shock to both Lark and Cesare to discover their connection in ITALIAN BABY SHOCK. Right after their night together, Lark was hit by a car and lost her memory. She had no idea who the father of Maya was until her fateful meeting with Cesare. A paternity test confirms the results, and he convinces her to marry him and move to Italy. Their marriage is real in that she shares his bed, and the sex is great between them but deep down, she wants more. Lark wants love between them. But his childhood was a disaster with his parents’ constant fighting until they died while he was still young. He doesn’t want to risk the possibility of it happening to him and any family he might have. ITALIAN BABY SHOCK is an emotional read as Cesare and Lark deal with the issues from their childhood as both had unstable parents. It has affected them so much that their meeting two years ago seems like fate. Two lost souls finding each other. Now they have a chance to come together in love and happiness, but will the ghosts from the past destroy the chance? Find out the answer by grabbing a copy of this sizzling tale. Patti Fischer |
