New York City & Hudson Valley, New York – Present Day Giselle Lewis is part of a group of friends who do a lot of activities together. A few have paired off, and one couple, Reagan and Jake, are engaged. Jake’s friend, Brandon Clark, is attractive, but Giselle doesn’t want to cause problems within their group by dating him and then having them break up. However, her girlfriends think she should go out with him, since there are clearly sparks between them. Meanwhile, Giselle starts dating Phillip. They seem compatible, and he’s attentive, but Giselle can’t stop thinking about Brandon. A weeklong trip to Hudson Valley for the group of friends starts out okay, but then Giselle finds out she will be sharing a bathroom with Brandon, and the attraction she has tried to keep hidden comes roaring to the surface. For much of A RISK WORTH TAKING, we don’t see Brandon as the book focuses on Giselle building a relationship with Phillip. It isn’t until they are together on the trip to Hudson Valley that we get some meaningful interaction. You will wonder if she ends up at the end with Phillip or Brandon, though it’s clear that it’s Brandon she is secretly attracted to. Giselle is working on a project, and she discusses it with both Phillip and Brandon, and it turns out their views about it are different. Which one will she decide? This tale is about a working woman and her friends, and her path to finding love. She wants a male companion, but is she ready to commit to one long term? In A RISK WORTH TAKING, Giselle has several friends she interacts with. Of course, there is Reagan and Jake, plus we meet Keisha and Jenn. The focus of the story is Giselle, with Brandon as the one she can’t forget about. At what point will she take the leap? Will they kiss, make love, or is it all a sweet romance? What happens with Phillip? Does Giselle dump him, or does something happen? I thought I had figured they would break up, with nothing to do with Brandon. Is this true? Does she indeed take a risk? An intriguing tale that is indeed a romance, don’t miss A RISK WORTH TAKING. Patti Fischer |
