| Westmore, North Carolina – Present Day Rowan Rothschild works for her family’s corporation but might as well be invisible. Her brother, Rhett, is the CEO and runs everything. Rowan is part of marketing and is considered the face of the company’s brand of liquor drinks. But she has a secret desire to gain control of the company, and the money her late grandmother left in trust for her might help. One day she is walking by the boardroom when she learns that a secret meeting is going on. She barges in to discover that Rhett is negotiating with a stranger, Holden Knight, to take a majority interest in the company. Her company. Of course, Rowan is angry. But she has to admit that Holden is one fine sexy man. Holden Knight has secrets. While I won’t get into all the secrets here, let’s just say he is back in Westmore and buying up the Rothschild’s company as revenge. He plans to put the screws into Rhett and his friend Chad Williams, who also works at the company and is rumored to be headed to the altar with Rowan. Speaking of Rowan, Holden finds himself attracted to her. It doesn’t help that she’s smart, beautiful, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind when it comes to what’s going on around the company. But he must not allow himself to be distracted because he is on a mission—and the company may be collateral damage. Though, Holden might allow himself to play a few sexy cat-and-mouse games with Rowan. TWISTED KNIGHT is a twisted tale of revenge and seduction. Holden grew up in the seedy part of town, but he now has a different last name, so no one has recognized him as the impoverished kid who grew up there. He despises the Rothschilds, though early in this tale he learns that Rowan wasn’t around in her teen years as she was away in a private school. She is not like Rhett, who is a spoiled, unscrupulous brat who shouldn’t be running the company. Rhett doesn’t realize that Holden is on to his schemes and embezzling. Rowan doesn’t know what is going on, but she keeps her own secrets. Namely, she wants to get the money to take over the company. One caveat to getting the money out of the trust is that she can get it early by marrying. Chad has been her eager groom-to-be all these years. Will she take the bait so she can get her hooks into the trust fund? As for Rowan and Holden, their cat-and-mouse game starts as a chase at first, but soon they are tempting each other. The desire and passion between them are hot and they can’t get enough of each other. Yet, as much as they want each other, they fear the uncontrollable feelings that course through them. It can’t be more than lust because neither are looking for a commitment. Holden is on a mission, and if Rowan finds out, she might hate him. Will he do something to betray her? At this point, I have to say that TWISTED KNIGHT ends on a cliffhanger and I didn’t realize this until I reached the end. Apparently, this is a serial series, and I am not sure when the next book will come out. So, to say this tale ends on a happy note…well. You just have to figure out if there is a chance for Holden and Rowan to find happiness together. Patti Fischer |
