Gilbert Corners – Present Day

Ten years ago, a terrible accident left heiress Rory Gilbert in a coma and the man who had attacked her earlier that night at a party dead. The aftermath of the tragedy changed the Gilbert family. Ten years after she went into a coma, Rory awakens. She has fuzzy memories of what happened that night, but her main goal is to get her strength back. Kit Palmer arrives at her home one day and she mistakes him for a handyman. He explains to her that she is mistaken, but she brushes it off. Kit discovers that he likes Rory and wants to know her better. They are soon spending lots of time together. What Kit hasn’t told Rory is that he is the brother of the man who died that night—and he is there for revenge against the Gilbert family.

After the accident, things went from bad to worse for Kit’s family. His father lost his job working for the Gilbert family and eventually died due to too much drinking. Kit changed his last name to Palmer and vowed that he would force the Gilbert family to pay for what they did to his family. But Kit doesn’t have all the facts about what happened that night. He doesn’t know that his brother attempted to rape Rory and that he caused the ensuing auto accident. All the Gilbert brothers want to do is protect Rory. While she is out of the coma, her health is still somewhat fragile.

Meanwhile, Rory and Kit continue to grow closer even though she doesn’t yet know who he is. Indeed, Rory is falling for a man she shouldn’t in FALLING FOR THE ENEMY. While he blames her family for destroying his family, he doesn’t blame Rory. Their relationship is sweet and sensual as they cherish each other. Because his last name is different, her brothers don’t pick up on the relationship. If they did, Kit would have likely been driven out of town. But Kit realizes that he has to tell Rory the truth. The longer he waits, the more likely she will be asking questions as to why he lied to her. Technically he didn’t lie to her because it was just an omission. That “omission” hangs like a dark cloud over them in this tale.

An intriguing read that will keep readers glued to the pages, don’t miss the drama and final reveal in FALLING FOR THE ENEMY. Will Kit and Rory get their happily-ever-after?
