Grenada – Present Day He awakens in an expensive hotel room, alone and with a painful knot on the back of his head. He doesn’t know where he is or what his name is, though there is a duffle bag nearby with lots of money inside. A business card is the only clue. It has the name of a business, a time, and the name John Adamos. He calls the front desk of the hotel and learns that the room is registered to the name on the card, and he is in London. He must be John, but that is all he knows. He decides to go to the address on the card. They greet him as John Adamos—even though to his ears that doesn’t sound right—and hand him a jewelry box they say he requested from them two weeks ago. Inside, there is a ring. He asks about an address and learns they have one for Grenada. John then uses the money to fly on a cargo plane to Grenada to find out the truth. Esmerelda “Esme” Clark is enjoying her minivacation after being fired from her job as head of security for the Crown Prince of Rodina. They had gotten too close—lovers in fact—and he fired her. As Esme is enjoying the beach, her idyl is suddenly interrupted when Crown Prince Julius arrives, startling her. He informs her that he needs her help because he doesn’t remember his name and explains what he has learned so far. While she should be happy to see him and willing to help him, she can’t forget his rejection of her—and that the ring he carries is for another woman. PRINCE’S FORGOTTEN DIAMOND opens with our hero unable to remember anything. We figure he must have been mugged or in a fight, resulting in the hit on the back of the head causing amnesia. It is Esme who begins to fill in the blanks, though she doesn’t tell him everything, like the fact that they were briefly lovers. But Julius continues to be drawn to Esme and convinces her to temporarily move to a much bigger living quarters than her tiny cottage. There, they fill the days getting reacquainted as piece by piece, his memory returns. Esme doesn’t confront him about the ring because she knows a bodyguard is not a suitable wife for the future King of Rodina. But Julius makes Esme feel special, and soon, they are lovers again. He even begins to remember most of his past. She knows it will need to end or her heart will be broken once more. Will our lovers be torn apart once again? PRINCE’S FORGOTTEN DIAMOND is a passionate and convoluted tale of a couple who clearly are drawn together despite their differing backgrounds. Can they find a way to build a life together? Find out by picking up a copy of this sizzling tale. Patti Fischer |
