England – 1792

Lady Imogen Sunter is in London for the Season. She's not exactly enjoying being on display, and her mother, the Duchess of Trevett, is on the look-out for the appropriate husband for her. Imogen is not shy, but she is innocent, and very beautiful, so it is important that she be steered towards a man with an unsullied background.

Tristan Bailey Rooke, Duke of Blackbern and his friend, Cason Brant, Marquess of Norgrave are known for their roguish ways. Tristan is trying to climb out of that disparaging behavior, but Norgrave makes it very difficult. Tristan meets the lovely Lady Imogen and is immediately smitten, but when Norgrave realizes this, he proposes a challenge for Tristan. Norgrave is determined to be the first to bed the young Imogen; can he win over her affection before Tristan can? To Tristan, this is going too far. He will fight to prevent Norgrave from having anything to do with Imogen.

What Tristan doesn't know is that Imogen is interested in him, too. He is also unaware of the lengths to which his friend will go to conquer Imogen. The more interest Tristan shows in the girl, the more determined Norgrave is to conclude his plan.

A DUKE BUT NO GENTLEMAN is part ofthe Masters of Seduction series. Tristan and Norgrave are well known for their less than stellar behavior, so when Tristan is linked with Imogen, her mother is not pleased. Plucky and outspoken, Imogen is still an innocent, and she is quite unprepared for the onslaught by Norgrave.

Sensual and filled with plenty of surprises, A DUKE BUT NO GENTLEMAN is an excellent summer read.
