New Suffolk, Massachusetts – Present Day

Photographer Jax Rawlins has resisted coming home to New Suffolk unless it’s to connect with an elderly man who he considers to be like a grandfather. But one day, Jax receives a message that “Pops” was injured and will need assistance. Jax heads home, hoping not to run into his embattled parents. But what about the woman he had a fling with six months ago when he was in town? Single mom Mia Kavanaugh is not his usual type; however, he can’t forget about their one beautiful night together in bed. He soon learns that Pops will need in-home care, and they can only find a night caregiver. Jax is going to have to stay in town for at least a month. He soon runs into Mia again…

Mia went through a painful divorce and is sharing custody of her three girls with her ex, Kyle. She is a teacher at a school but doesn’t consider it to be her goal for the rest of her life. She enjoys interior designing but that requires capital she doesn’t have. One day she spots action across the street where Pops lives. Mia discovers Jax is there and helping to take care of the man while also trying to do his own work remotely. Mia is hired to help care for Pops, which leads to her becoming closer to Jax. Will this closeness lead to another night of blissful lovemaking? He is only there for a while, so can she accept a temporary fling?

All through THE LAST TIME WE KISSED there was an expectation that there’d be a repeat of their last time together because the sexual chemistry between Jax and Mia is sizzling hot. There are, however, a lot of people around them which makes it difficult for them to get much alone time. Not only is there Pops who needs taken care of, but Mia’s three girls require attention. Mia soon learns that Jax, who doesn’t consider himself the marrying kind, is good with her children. Jax’s parents live nearby, and it is painful for him to be around them. Whenever he is there, they fight each other. Jax is tired of it. No marriage or settling down in his hometown for him! Mia can’t live anywhere else.

Readers will enjoy the realness of Jax and Mia’s family situations and the fact they enjoy each other’s company. It’s clear that they are perfect for each other, but the issue is going to be whether they see it—and if they can make it work. Both deserve a second chance at love. Don’t miss the fun and dancing around love in the enjoyable THE LAST TIME WE KISSED.
