Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Present Day

Cassidy Morgan is trying to get to Oklahoma City to say goodbye to her dying father, but due to bad weather, she was delayed in Chicago's airport and didn't make it in time. While she's waiting for the weather to clear, she catches the eye of a stranger across the terminal. Something about him intrigues her, and she's drawn to him just as he is to her, and she strikes up a conversation with him. Would a one night stand with him be the thing to help her get over her misery in not getting to see her father in time? Just as she thinks this is going to happen, he is interrupted and leaves.

Chance Barron has a demanding father who is determined as hell on bringing down the Morgan family, and he is on Chance's case to put the final nail in the coffin now that Ben Morgan is dead. Chance didn't realize that the beautiful woman he met in the airport was Ben's daughter until he went to the funeral and saw Cassidy. She doesn't know who he is – or what he wants – as she mistakenly thinks his name is Chance Chancellor. An instant attraction develops between them and, because of this, he holds off telling her the truth until he gets to know her. But will his attraction to her end up with him facing the wrath of his father and hurting Cassidy?

Cassidy's father always told her that COWGIRLS DON'T CRY, and she's really trying to not cry after she learns the ranch is mortgaged to the hilt…and a balloon payment is due. All she needs to do is get the cattle to the stockyard and sell them, but that turns out to be easier said than done when Cyrus Barron interferes and scares off anyone who helps her. Having Chance around is nice, even if he doesn't seem like a normal cowboy, what with his being a lawyer and driving an expensive truck. He wants to go out with her, but she feels she doesn't have the time, but the man is persistent. When he succeeds…fireworks happen and she's hooked. But for how long can their fling last since she plans to head back to Chicago.

Chance is only hoping he can figure out where things will go with Cassidy before he gives her the news that his father has his fingers around the ranch's mortgage that's due. His father is ornery and unsympathetic to Cassidy's plight because all he wants is revenge, no matter that she has nothing to do with the feud. Chance normally falls in with his father's demands because he doesn't want to cross him, but Cassidy has him thinking differently. His brothers suspect what is going on and warn him that he's got a tough battle ahead. Give up his family or Cassidy? Which will he choose?

But keeping the truth from Cassidy is going to send Chance on a fiery course that surely isn't going to end well in COWGIRLS DON'T CRY. Is Cassidy going to save her father's ranch? Will Chance go against his father? Find out in COWGIRLS DON'T CRY if they have a chance for a happily-ever-after.
