In the Olympic Mountains, Washington – Present Day

It’s Georgia O’Connor’s wedding day and she is about to go down the aisle. But a message on her phone leads her to a post that her groom-to-be is about to become a father—with another woman! It’s too much for Georgia to handle, so she escapes from the scene and decides to head to the only place where she can find solitude: her late grandfather’s remote cabin in the Olympic Mountains. The rain is falling, and she barely makes it up the slippery mountain road but when she arrives, she discovers it is being occupied by Sawyer Roberts. Her mother didn’t tell her that she’d rented out the cabin for a month.

Photojournalist Sawyer wants to be alone and continue grieving for his best friend after both were caught in gunfire while they were taking pictures. When Georgia shows up at the cabin—still in her wedding dress and wetter than a dog—his first instinct is to tell her to leave. However, it’s dark and raining, then a mudslide takes out part of the road and bridge. She can’t leave, and it appears that she will be stranded with him for at least two weeks. Should Sawyer and Georgia just make the best of things and become friends? What about the fiery hot sparks that are flying between them?

I must admit that I love a good “stranded” romance and STRANDED WITH THE RUNAWAY BRIDE doesn’t fail to deliver. Georgia thought she had found a great guy to marry but he turns out to be a jerk. He bedded his ex-girlfriend while engaged to Georgia, and per the picture on the internet, he’s happy about becoming a father. But he failed to tell his fiancée! Having been raised by her single mother after her father cheated numerous times, one can understand why Georgia fears history repeating itself. Too bad her mother doesn’t see what the problem is. Escaping and planning to spend time alone while she sorted out her thoughts, the cabin was the first place she thought about. Too bad it’s already occupied.

Sawyer and Georgia make the best of their situation and even end up sharing duties such as meal preparation. She is naturally curious about him, but he is still reticent to discuss what happened to him. Gradually, he thaws out and it hits him like a roaring river that he’s attracted to Georgia. Of course, it helps that the cabin is well stocked, not only in food but with condoms. Soon, Georgia and Sawyer are making good use of those. They agreed that once their time together in the cabin was over, they would walk away from each other. Will their hearts have a different idea?

STRANDED WITH THE RUNAWAY BRIDE is wonderfully written and it held my attention as I hated to put down the book. Georgia and Sawyer are two likable characters going through a rough patch. Their sensitivity to each helps them heal. An emotional and sensual tale that I had to give A Perfect 10 to, don’t miss STRANDED WITH THE RUNAWAY BRIDE.
