Peak, Virginia – Present Day Gabriella Espiritu and Chip Lowry have been friends forever. He has stood by as she dips her toes into the dating pool, with usually bad results. She is the wedding planner for her half-brother’s wedding to her best friend. Gaby has been anxiously texting with the newest guy she is dating, but he has now mysteriously ghosted her. Chip is like a sad puppy dog himself as he moons over Gaby. He doesn’t want to break their friendship by telling her how he wants their relationship to go beyond that of friends. Yet, one day they kiss. It’s mutual, and then Gaby runs away. Why? Because it turns out that she liked kissing Chip and is afraid that falling for him would change their friendship. Can these two ever get together? Gaby’s self-esteem has been hurt over the years by guys who start out as good dating partners, but they invariably turn out to be duds or drop her. She is not the most exciting person to be around. Her life revolves around her family because they are close. However, Chip and she are like two peas in a pod. They understand and support each other. Their family senses Chip and Gaby should be together, but how to convince them? The wedding continues to grow closer, and things start to become tense between them.
