Silver Glen, North Carolina – Present Day

After her father was sent to prison for financial fraud and her mother later committed suicide, all Libby Parkhurst wanted to do was crawl under a rock and hide. Her mother's best friend, Maeve Kavanagh, invited Libby to temporarily live in her hometown, Silver Glen. Maeve also encouraged her son, Patrick, to hire Libby as a temporary personal assistant for his team building experiences company, Silver Reflections. Reluctantly, because he couldn't come up with an adequate excuse as to why not, he hires her. Patrick sees Libby as a spoiled, (formerly) rich girl who'll wilt in the wild.

After her family's tumble from the rich and powerful, Libby's self-esteem took a nosedive. She's grateful for Maeve's friendship and is aware of Patrick's disdain, but she really wants to do good at this job. She agrees to go with him on a trial trip into the mountains where the two of them will spend a couple nights…alone. Bears and sleeping on the ground might trip up Libby, but nothing is going to stop her from doing well on the job. The trip proves to be an eye opener for both, but none more so than the blazing attraction that flares between them.

Libby hides her beauty beneath hideous clothes and colored mousy hair because she's still afraid of being recognized as the fallen society heiress now shunned by her friends. That image is how Patrick first sees her in HOW TO SLEEP WITH THE BOSS, but soon he discovers the sexy, beautiful side that he begins to lust after. Despite Libby's high society background she does adapt – somewhat – to the outdoors. But after an accident that leaves her and Patrick trapped in a mine, it brings them closer. Close enough that sex between them is soon put on the table. They want each other, but will a fling complicate things between them? The opportunity comes on a business trip to New York City.

The sex between Libby and Patrick is out of this world, and soon she's falling in love. He's made it clear he's not the marrying kind, especially after watching his father walk out of his family's life when he was a child. His mother has managed to act as a matchmaker for his five older brothers and their wives, but Patrick is determined he won't be number six. Even as he makes plans to end his affair with Libby, he's already regretting losing her. Can he change his mind and offer Libby his love?

Part of the Kavanaghs of Silver Glen series by Janice Maynard, HOW TO SLEEP WITH THE BOSS can pretty much be read as a standalone without too many issues following along. We do get to visit with a few of Patrick's brothers, but this tale is still solely Libby and Patrick's romance.

Grab a chair and sit down for bit, as you'll soon be caught up in the tale of Libby and Patrick's adventures in the wild and watching them fall in love in HOW TO SLEEP WITH THE BOSS.
