Royal, Texas – Present Day

Abby Carmichael was brought in for the upcoming Soiree on the Bay to report and shoot a documentary about the event. On her first day in Royal, she is out in the countryside taking pictures when a disgruntled cowboy comes riding toward her and yells at her to get off his property. Abby leaves in a hurry, but she has to admit that she's intrigued by the hunky cowboy. Later that night, in the bar at the hotel she's staying in, Carter Crane comes in and introduces himself to her. He's the cowboy who had ordered her off his land. They strike up a flirtatious conversation and the sparks fly. Abby convinces Carter to agree to pose for some pictures for her and to be interviewed about his life as a cowboy. It doesn't take long before they're entangled in a sexual fling.

Carter hasn't gotten involved with many women since he broke off his engagement years ago. He's aware that Abby is only in town for a short period of time, so it's a perfect setting for a quick fling. But being around her soon has Carter wishing she'd stay in Royal for more than a couple of weeks. Abby is smart, beautiful, and sassy. They get along so perfectly. As their time together grows closer to ending, will Carter ask Abby to stay on? Will she agree?

It's an instant attraction for Abby and Carter in TEXAS TOUGH, the latest Texas Cattleman's Club tale revolving around a music and food fest. Abby is independent and has no plans to get tied down to one man. She goes from job to job and the Soiree on the Bay is just another assignment—but meeting Carter turns her world upside down. Though their “introduction” to each other was tense, they soon grow to like each other…a lot. A sexual affair is all that either can offer to the other at first, but feelings start to develop between them.

Carter has decided to keep love and commitments out of his life after his failed engagement. While they were sexually compatible, his ex didn't have the same love for ranch life that Carter had. The ranch comes first for him. While Abby was raised in a big city, she loves the outdoor opportunities that are presented in Royal, including riding one of Carter's horses. Abby and Carter are compatible in both bed and other activities, but her plans are to move on to the next job once Soiree on the Bay is over. Carter, however, doesn't want her to leave.

The sexual chemistry between Carter and Abby is hotter than molten lava in TEXAS TOUGH, but they will have to deal with whether one or both will need to change their lives. Will there be a compromise? Find out the answer by picking up a copy of TEXAS TOUGH.
