Winsome Cove, Massachusetts – Present Day

Sword forger Max Bellamy found his life upended when he discovered he was the father of a five-year-old son, Tyler, who recently lost his mother. She had never told Max that she was pregnant, so Tyler is a surprise. But despite his inexperience as a parent, he will take responsibility for his son. Max is used to living on the road selling his wares, but because he has family already in Winsome Cove, he decides to move there to help him, and his son adjust to each other. The day they move in, the next-door neighbor, Grace Bennett, comes roaring over to inform Max that he can’t park his work trailer in his driveway because it’s against the rules of the historical neighborhood. Of course, Max is enraged because it holds his livelihood, but Grace is firm on the rules.

Max and Grace don’t get off to the best start in A CAPE COD HOLIDAY and he has a lot of things that give her pause. For one, his son calls him by his first name, not “daddy.” There is also the fact that he sets up his sword and knife-making in the carriage house, of which Grace has a bird’s eye view. She’s always checking on him through her kitchen window. One day, his son comes over to her place while she’s gardening and starts talking to Grace. He’s a nice kid and it turns out that he loves to play the piano. Grace teaches piano. While Max is not fond of Grace, he ends up hiring her to teach Tyler. This leads to Grace and Max getting to know each other better…and an attraction soon develops…

Readers can see the romance building between Grace and Max from a mile away. Maybe it's because it’s an enemies-to-lovers type of thing. She thinks he is uncouth and the type of man she wouldn’t be interested in. He thinks she is too uptight about sticking to the rules. But the one thing they do agree on is keeping Tyler happy. In A CAPE COD HOLIDAY, the threesome starts spending time together, but at night it’s Max and Grace. While they do squabble once in a while after they become friends, they make up—until they don’t. What breaks them up? Can their romance be saved? Readers will enjoy the dynamics of Max and Grace as they appear to be totally opposite of what they expect in a lover. Meanwhile, Max has to still work on getting Tyler to accept him. The boy’s maternal grandparents continue to lurk and would take him back if things don’t work out between father and son.

Find out what happens to the threesome of Grace, Max, and Tyler in the enjoyable A CAPE COD HOLIDAY. If you’re like me, you’ll be rooting for them to become one big happy family.
