Moose Springs, Alaska – Present Day

The citizens of Moose Springs do not like socialite Lana Montgomery because she is rich, and they are suspicious of her ideas to make their lives better. How can someone who didn't grow up in a small Alaskan town tell them what to do differently? But one person in town does like Lana: bar owner Rick Harding. He has watched Lana try to blend in as she flits around town suggesting and bringing about changes. Right now, she is determined to find—and tranquilize—a marauding moose that is destroying Christmas decorations. Lana is intrigued by Rick. He is stoic and quiet, plus he will always step in to help others, including her. After some time spent together talking to each other, feelings develop. But Lana is on a short leash with her family as they want her to leave Moose Springs by the end of December to get back to “family” business matters. Can she bear to leave Rick and their fledging romance behind? Do they have anything to offer one another—besides love?

Christmas is approaching and Lana is gunning for a moose playing hide and seek in MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT by Sarah Morgenthaler. Yes, this book will definitely tickle your funny bone and make you smile. Lana is all business when it comes to Moose Springs. She works for her family's corporation and has been overseeing the building of condos while living there. Her family is making noises about wanting Lana to return to Chicago and concentrate on other projects. But she loves living in Alaska and promises she won't leave until she catches the moose, while secretly she wants to stick around to see the town transformed into one that is more vibrant and making money. Right now, very few tourists visit. Lana wants to change that.  Or is it because Rick has caught her eye? They have spent many nights chatting in the bar, and he's easy to talk to, as well as being easy on the eye.

Rick has been somewhat bitter over his divorce. He did just about everything to keep his wife, but in the end, she wasn't satisfied and moved on. Rick must admit that living in Alaska isn't for everyone. It's cold and isolated, plus you must deal with wild animals, such as the moose that's been terrorizing Christmas decorations in Moose Springs. Lana claims she likes staying in Moose Springs, but how soon will the novelty wear off and she hightails it back to Chicago? As their feelings for each other heighten, maybe a Christmas fling is in order to “scratch the itch.” Yet, the attraction they have for each other appears to be deeper than just a temporary fling.

There is plenty of fun and hijinks galore in MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT, the second book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. The townspeople are a quirky bunch who love their town and view Lana with suspicion. Will she commercialize their town and destroy it? Lana insists that won't happen, but can they trust her? If you love a cute, funny, and entertaining holiday romance, then be sure to put MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT at the top of your to-buy list.
