Westover, Oregon – Present Day

Lacey Karr had already made the decision to leave her attorney job in Portland to move back to her hometown when she got the news her grandmother had a massive stroke. In the rush to get to the hospital, Lacey is involved in a bad car accident. She wakes up in the Westover hospital to learn she has a badly broken leg and that her grandmother has died. Now Lacey is not only without a family, but she has to rely on her old childhood friend/nemesis (and now sheriff) Mason James for help.

Lacey is independent and doesn't like to get assistance from others. This was ingrained into her while growing up as the whispered about illegitimate granddaughter of Rennie.  This left Lacey with a big chip on her shoulder, and she thinks the whole town still looks down on her. This isn't entirely the truth, since Mason and his father were really good friends with Lacey and Rennie. While Mason irritated Lacey as a child, she can't help but admire that he's turned into one handsome, sexy man. Now, if he'd only listen to her when she says she can manage on her own…

LACEY'S HOMECOMING is about returning home to face your past. Lacey only imagined that people didn't like her. Soon she learns that she was admired, respected and thought of as a beautiful person, both inside and out. Lacey soon gets to see not only the town and Mason as different, but has a deeper understanding of what the truth was while growing up. Mason is a commanding presence. He knows Lacey needs to be careful with her broken leg and she can't be on her own, so he invites her into his home. But with her beloved grandmother now gone, does Lacey want to remain in Westover, or should she return to Portland , where she has been offered a promotion to become a partner in her old law firm? What about Mason? Everyone around her in Westover insists that Mason has always loved her, but could he have moved on with another woman? Lacey's old insecurities continue to nag her in LACEY'S HOMECOMING. Meanwhile, Lacey decides to embark on a mission to discover information about her father. Is he alive or is she going to run into a roadblock? And if she does learn the truth, will it be what she wants to hear?

A sweet, engaging tale, LACEY'S HOMECOMING is a nice read for those times you don't want hot and heavy action or sex scenes. Lacey's orderly life has now become complicated in the most unexpected of ways.
