Christmas Bay, Oregon – Present Day Cora Sawyer and her daughter, Mary, have been in Christmas Bay for six months. Cora grew up there but left at eighteen when she became pregnant with Mary. She later married Max, who accepted Mary as his own, but sadly, he died from cancer. It’s the Christmas season, and Cora has learned that Mary has been searching for her real father. Cora never hid from Mary about the identity of her father, but he doesn’t know about Mary. Figuring out it’s time to head off any disappointment for Mary in case he rebuffs her, she decides to contact him. Cora is astonished to learn that he is back in Christmas Bay working as a firefighter. Neil Prescott is stunned to get an email from a young girl named Mary who claims that he is her father. While he is digesting the news, he is contacted by Cora, and they agree that he will meet Mary. He doesn’t question whether he is Mary’s father. Cora would never lie about that. The reason she kept it from him was because of his parents, who thought Cora was beneath Neil and would hinder his success. While he is angry that she couldn’t be truthful with him, he is growing to love Mary. Despite his anger, Neil soon realizes that he is still attracted to Cora. Will that attraction turn to love? HER CHRISTMAS FLAME is a sweet story set around the Christmas holidays. Cora and Mary loved Max and still miss him. Cora knows it was probably wrong not to have told Neil about being pregnant, but the words of his parents that she wasn’t good enough for him rang heavily in her ears. She probably wouldn’t have returned to Christmas Bay, but according to the terms of her late grandfather’s will, she must live there for a year, running the antique store and living above it in an apartment. She never expected to find Neil living in town. Turns out that he actually rebuffed his own parents in a way when he went into firefighting. He then jumped at the chance to return to Christmas Bay when an opening came up. Meanwhile, Cora and Neil are dancing around their old feelings for each other. She encourages him to get to know Mary, but that means that she will be present in his life, also. They start out stiffly communicating with each other in HER CHRISTMAS FLAME, but soon learn more about what is going on with the other. Their love never really died, but comes roaring back to life. Despite the challenges, mainly because of Mary, will they get a chance to explore their feelings for each other? Is there a second chance at love in the stars? Find out the answer by grabbing a copy of HER CHRISTMAS FLAME. Patti Fischer |
