The first part of GOSSAMER is strictly a young adult contemporary tale with Kylie and Lexie lamenting their life as high school seniors, juggling guys and going to parties. The moment Kylie spots Grant, she's instantly attracted, but he's also caught the eye of a school rival. Yet it is Kylie that he appears interested in, and they seem to always end up near each other. But after she turns eighteen, Grant reveals the truth to her about her birth and real parentage and GOSSAMER turns into a paranormal tale. While the supposed reality of her parentage is a big shock, she accepts it after talking to her presumed parents. They agreed to switch children and took her in to save their own little girl from certain death from an illness. Kylie and their daughter will be switched once she is safely in Tir na nÓg. Kylie follows along with Grant and Conor to that magical fantasyland where faeries and others live. Kylie grows closer to Grant and is soon head over heels in love, but he neglects to tell her what's expected of her once she arrives. How will Kylie's reunion with her real mother go? Will she be able to ever see Lexie again? And what does the future hold for Kylie…and Grant?

GOSSAMER ends on a cliffhanger, so while readers can expect a possible happily ever after for Kylie, you'll have to wait until next year to read the second in the series, GILDED, to find out if that's true. Told from Kylie's first person point of view, the writing is well done, and you'll be anxiously turning to the next page to see what happens with Kylie.
