Historical Romance

Leicestershire and London, England - 1815

Nearly one hour from home, with hail and rain pounding on the roof of her coach, Lady Grace Carpenter directs her driver to stop at the Crow and Hound, an inn just around the bend.  Grace is traveling by herself, but the innkeeper, Mr. Brown, will see that she is safe and protected for the night.  However, Fate takes a twist, and within the next hour, Grace makes a decision to throw away caution and experience one night of passion.

The Earl of Worthington, Mattheus, is forced to stop on his way home and take shelter from the storm.  During the hours that follow, he finds himself enamored of the most mysterious woman he has ever met.  And by morning she is gone.

Grace sets out for home before the dawn breaks, her one night of magic tucked safely away in her memory.  She has long dreamed about the Earl of Worthington, ever since they first met during her Season in London.  His presence last night was pure coincidence mixed with her impulsive desires.  Consequences will be dire if she is found out, but she'll take the risk.  She knows Mr. Brown will not reveal her name, so her secret should be safe.  Putting her fears away, Grace tries not to think about her indiscretion that could mean she'll lose custody of her six siblings.  Her brother Charles is still five years away from his majority and the Earldom of Stanwood, and Grace will fight to keep it all intact for him.  Still, she has one wonderful memory of a love that can never be hers.

Matt only wishes to find the woman he has fallen in love with and plans to marry.  In the meantime, the Season is upon them and he packs up his two stepsisters and stepmother; they're bound for Louise's coming out in London, where Matt will open up his house on Berkeley Square.  Upon his arrival he contacts his friend, the Earl of Evesham.  Matt produces a sketch of the mysterious woman he spent the night with, hoping to learn her identity.

Grace and her siblings are also bound for London for her sister Charlotte's debut.  They're a week early, but they'll stay with Aunt Almeria until Charles's arrival at Stanford House on Berkeley Square.  Once in London, Grace immediately goes to visit her best friend Phoebe, the Countess of Evesham.

All of this activity culminates when two playful Great Danes and a multitude of children run into Matt in the park, and once again, he and Grace come face to face.  There are many obstacles to the marriage Matt desires, and Grace still tries to deny her feelings, lest she lose the children.  Making matters worse, scandal is suddenly thrust upon them and they must devise a plan: THREE WEEKS TO WED!  What follows is a delicious romance mixed with laughter and mysterious danger.  Readers will not put this book down!  Grace and Matt maintain their relationship and their propriety, barely escaping the scandal brought about by an unseen enemy.

The second novel in The Worthington Series will debut in September 2016:  WHEN A MARQUIS CHOOSES A BRIDE. In the meantime, do not miss THREE WEEKS TO WED.  It is a fast paced Perfect 10 of a novel!
