Historical Romance

Scotland – 18 th  Century

In a desperate attempt to save her father's life, Lady Evina MacLean ventures out with two of her clansmen to find noted healer, Rory Buchanan. They find him bathing under a waterfall and a kerfuffle ensues. The bather is startled when Evina's cousin leaps into the water near him, and the cousin finds himself being held under water. Evina leaps into the fray and whacks the bather with her sword hilt. Dragging the unconscious man onto shore, the MacLeans then tie him up and sling him over his horse and return to their home.

Conran Buchanan awakens to find himself trussed up on his horse, and after they arrive at the MacLean holdings, he realizes that the clan believes him to be his younger brother, Rory. Thankfully, for all of their sakes, Conran has seen enough of Rory's healing techniques to know how to lower Fearghas MacLean's fever and dress his wound. But he doesn't reveal his true identity to Evina or her family members and servants. He's attracted to Evina, who is obviously a take-charge woman, however, he understands that she is married.

Evina thinks Rory/Conran is quite handsome, but she's not going to fall for his growing attention to her. As her father slowly recovers, he notices an attraction between the two, and his machinations make life much more complicated for Conran and Evina There is someone else, though, who lurks in the background plotting against the MacLeans.

THE WRONG HIGHLANDER is another tale in the  Highland Brides  series. Evina is a strong woman, but has not had a loving life, so winning her heart won't be easy for Conran. A mystery, adventure, and love story, THE WRONG HIGHLANDER was a fun read.
