Heartland Hollows Ranch, Wyoming – Present Day Out of the blue, Gracie Dawson’s six-month-old son, Liam, is named an heir to a nearby ranch. She can’t figure out why, as there is no apparent connection between Liam and the recently deceased owner, Bo Bixby, whom she never met. Liam gets one-half ownership, with the other half going to the ranch’s foreman, single father West Calhoun. He also has no clue why Bo left half to Liam, but he is friendly enough to work with Gracie and invites her to move into Bo’s house. While West and Gracie search for answers as to the connection, they establish a friendship and soon are attracted to each other. While they both lived in the same area, neither West nor Gracie had met the other before. The father of her baby, Harry, ditched her after she became pregnant, but he was killed in a motorcycle accident a few months ago. They can’t find any connection between Bo and Harry, as Bo was a bachelor and Harry’s father is listed as unknown. Meanwhile, West has a twelve-year-old daughter, Alexa, who is experiencing growing pains as she gets ready to enter her teens. It turns out that Gracie is helpful when it comes to Alexa. The little family meshes well together, so one can see why we should be rooting for them to become one. But Gracie and West can’t see how it could work when neither is looking for a romance. THE BABY’S CHRISTMAS RANCH is one of those good-hearted romances with plenty of slow-burning between the couple as they fall in love. West is always helpful to Gracie, while she returns the favor when it comes to Alexa. Does West want to take on the responsibility of a wife and a baby, while Gracie wonders if getting involved with your son’s business partner is a good idea? Readers will be rooting for them to find out the answers. By the end, we learn about how Liam became an unexpected heir. Will Gracie and West give in to the love that is growing between them? Don’t miss this enjoyable tale. Patti Fischer |
