Granite Falls, Texas – Present Day

Emory Swanson moved in with her aunt a few months ago and works at her bed and breakfast, her job mainly being the cook. While outside the B&B one day, she hears the whining of a dog in distress. The dog is wedged underneath a bush and nothing Emory does can get it out. Suddenly a male voice appears out of nowhere. Looking up, she gazes into the eyes of a strange man. He helps her get the dog out and a friendship is formed between Emory, the dog, and the man.

Cowboy Dougal McCarrick is instantly smitten with Emory. But he’s shy and can’t voice the words he feels for her. So, he pens a poem without signing it and secretly drops it in the B&B mailbox. Unfortunately, Emory’s aunt thinks it’s for her. The fun is trying to figure out which man is interested in the older woman. After the painful loss of her husband, Emory doesn’t believe she is the recipient. Yet, Dougal is suddenly popping up at the B&B and they form a friendship that soon starts to turn romantic. She feels she isn’t ready for a relationship—or even deserves love anymore. Dougal needs to let her know the poems are for her, but his tongue is tied. Is there any hope that these two find love together?

LOVE LETTERS FROM HER COWBOY is a bit of an amusing tale mixed with some sweet romance. Emory’s still scarred by her late husband’s death, and she doesn’t believe she deserves happiness. Her passion is cooking, which soon leads to requests for catering. Since she has mostly holed herself up at the B&B, it turns out that rescuing the pup, who appears to not have a home and stays with Emory, has her meeting a lot more people than the ones at the B&B. Dougal is part of a large family and they provide insulation when the couple are around each other. They are interested in each other but who will be the first to make their move?

Meanwhile, Emory’s aunt’s stepson arrives in town. He’s welcomed at the B&B, but Dougal sees red. Why does Dougal hate Lucas? Readers will have to find out why by reading LOVE LETTERS FROM HER COWBOY. Though, even Emory has a few misgivings about Lucas. Will he cause harm to the people of Granite Falls? Will Emory discover that the poems are being penned by Dougal and are for her? Along the way, readers will smile and chuckle at the cute banter between our couple and the other characters. This tale is a lot of fun with both the human and canine characters. You won’t want to miss picking up a copy of LOVE LETTERS FROM HER COWBOY.
