Laramie, Texas – Present Day Drs. Zach McCabe and Claire Lowell barely know each other, but one day Zach needs to consult with Claire about a case. She has heard about him because he is known as the town’s Sir Galahad and is always ready to pitch in and help others. Sparks fly between them, but Claire isn’t planning on getting involved with any man right now as she is a single mother of three-and-a-half-year-old triplets. Then, the children’s nanny has to leave town suddenly for a few days. As a busy cardiologist, being without reliable childcare is something that can’t happen. Zach offers his assistance, and between the two of them, Easter weekend goes off without a hitch, though the children miss their beloved nanny. Just as Claire thinks her life is getting back to normal, two things happen. First, the father of her children contacts her. He hadn’t wanted any contact with the children since before they were born, now this. Then, the nanny announces she is permanently leaving to take a job in the city. This results in Zach being in their lives more, and the two are falling for each other. If you love romances with children involved, then STAND-IN TEXAS DAD is perfect for you. Claire is a busy woman, both in her practice and with her active children. She is fairly new to town, as she wanted to start a new life after relying on her sister and brother-in-law for so long after she found out she was pregnant and then having the triplets. Zach was raised in Laramie, and his big family is prominent in town. Several years ago, he lost his fiancée in an accident, and he still mourns her death. Or so he thinks, as he has told his family that he will never marry. But being around Claire has him possibly reconsidering his plans. They get some alone time and start a fling. Can it become permanent? They get along well, and the kids adore him just as he does them. But Claire is afraid of abandonment again after her ex left her pregnant and alone. Can she change her mind and open her heart to Zach? STAND-IN TEXAS DAD is a bit of a sweet romance with some fairly tame love scenes. All in all, it’s a warmhearted romance that is perfect for when you’re looking for something to read that holds your attention and leaves you with a smile on your face. Claire, Zach, and the triplets are adorable together, and readers will be rooting for them to make it as a family. Of course, what the ex wants lurks in the shadows. What does he want?
