Wyoming – Present Day Alison “Ali” Wells was raised by her father, Carson, a literary icon. After he unexpectedly died six months ago, she received back the DNA results that her father, grandmother, and Ali had taken on a lark just before he died. It alerted her that there was someone out there who was a close relative, likely a half-sister. After doing some digging, Ali zeroed in on Juniper “June” Connolly, a high-powered executive at a company in Seattle. Ali applied for—and got a job as June’s assistant—without letting on their possible connection. However, she is not good at the job, and the day she is fired, June has a massive heart attack. Ali saves her life and stays with her at the hospital while a heart device is implanted into June. Seeing a chance to get close to June, Ali invites her to stay at the Wells ranch in Wyoming. Once June is well enough, Ali plans to tell her the truth. June reluctantly accepts the invitation, but only because she has no other family (that she is aware of) to depend on. Life on the ranch could be boring, but she soon enjoys the views and fresh air, as well as the visits from her next-door neighbor, Beckett. Then June is given the opportunity to go through Carson Wells’ journal that he kept over the years. She soon learns that an unpublished manuscript is possibly missing. Will it open some unexpected information that neither June nor Ali knew? Meanwhile, Ali is happy to learn that her best friend, Xander, is in town on a break from his career as a travel vlogger. She has secretly been in love with him since they were teens, but he only thinks of her as a friend. Will things change now that they are adults and hanging around each other again? At what point will Ali tell June that they are half-sisters? June was raised by her widowed mother and never knew her military dad, who died when she was a baby. Her mother died when she was a teen, so she ended up in foster care. She worked hard to put herself through school and, along with two friends, started a company in Seattle that is doing well. But June was a workaholic, and the stress led to her heart issues. Ali should hate June after she was fired, but instead, the woman stayed by her side in the hospital and invited her to Wyoming. The big question is why? But the more the two women are around each other, the closer they become. At every turn in THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES, readers wonder when June will learn the truth. The big question is how June’s mother, a married woman, met Ali’s father. Does the answer lie in the journals or the unknown manuscript? As one might suspect by now, THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES is an emotional tale. It is mostly focused on Ali and June, with romance in the background as Ali hangs out with Xander and June struggles with her feelings for Beck. Secrets unfolding are a big part, as June reads Carson’s journals. She hasn’t a clue that she is reading her father’s words, and a mysterious woman mentioned…is this June’s mother? Readers will be glued to the pages as we need to see June’s reaction to finding out about her relationship with Ali. We also need to know if our ladies each get a happily ever after. A beautiful story that will win the hearts of readers. Don’t miss THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES. Patti Fischer |
