Iraq – 2009
In 2009, Staff Sergeant Landry Cooper was checking out a building after a bomb blew it up.  While looking for any left behind IED's, he finds one, and as he tries to run away, he only gets about ten feet before it blows, and though his protective suit helps some, he is pretty sure his spine was broken and he has shrapnel sticking out of his body like darts.  Nevertheless, this buddy Jim Wainwright, his best friend and fellow senior team leader, drags him out as best he can.  More dead than alive, Landry finally loses consciousness .

Dallas, Texas - Present Day
Landry is now a member of the SWAT team in Dallas, but not a normal SWAT team.  Their team is all made up of all werewolves.  Landry was changed because of the stress of the bombing, and the whole team are like a big family.  Lately, three members of the team have found The One , the one perfect mate for them in all the world.  Once just a fable, now every member is looking for their True Mate too.  As Landry is in line at the bank to cash a check, he talks to the attractive woman in front of him, until he hears whispers fifty feet away.  (Werewolves have excellent hearing as well).  He sees four men with black trench coats talking to each other about robbing the bank and now having to kill him too.  Landry foils their attempt and saves the attractive woman he had just asked out on a date, Everly Danu.

Everly and Landry together can't believe how safe and special they feel being around the other; it's like their smell and personalities were meant to be together.  But then Jim Wainwright comes into town, Landry's old friend from the service, only now he is drinking too much and just isn't himself.  Add into the mix bombs that seem to be directed at a local defense contractor, and Landry is busy trying to pass his internal affairs investigation and dealing with Everly's father and brothers taking an instant hatred to him.

Paige Tyler has outdone herself in this fourth story of the SWAT in Dallas, Texas.  Landry is perfect for a SWAT member, strong, tall, attractive enough to make any woman's shoes fall off, and he soon realizes Everly is probably The One for him.  Everly can't find a thing wrong with Landry, and she doesn't really notice how quickly he heals from injuries on the job.  Told from Everly's and Landry's points of view, Everly tries to be cautious about Landry, but his care and concern for her are something she's never experienced.  Landry is reluctant to tell Everly the truth about himself, especially since he has to be psychologically evaluated before he can go back to work with the team.  Internal Affairs just can't figure out how he knew a robbery was taking place and how he threw a 200 pound man through a plate glass window by himself.  Landry must watch every word he says or else it could hurt his entire group.

Secondary characters are all the members of the SWAT team, and now their wives as they each meet The One .  Jim Wainwright comes to Dallas, and he is not at all the friend Landry remembers.  For some reason Everly's father and three brothers are bound and determined to end the relationship she has with Landry no matter how they have to do it.

I say this about each one of the SWAT SERIES books, but I'm sure I believe TO LOVE A WOLF is the best; following HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF, WOLF TROUBLE, and IN THE COMPANY OF WOLVES.  There are hot emotions, a sexy shapeshifter, a tight-knit group of fighters trying to keep Dallas safe, and did I mention hot love?  This is totally a standalone story, but the first three men in the series each have his own different and unique meeting with The One that is perfect for him.  Please grab TO LOVE A WOLF if you even think a strong and good-looking shapeshifter might be just what you need to enjoy a great reading experience.
