Four Corners Ranch, Oregon – Present Day Denver King’s father killed Sheena Patrick’s father years ago, leaving Sheena to raise her three younger sisters on her own. Because of what his father did, Denver has helped Sheena from afar, though the two rarely interact. One day, she contacts him with a request. She wants his financial assistance in helping her open an axe-throwing bar. He agrees, but with a request of his own. That the bar is located in an old building on his family’s property and that it gets done in time for Christmas, so his family can celebrate there. She agrees. This will mean working together—closely. Sheena isn’t used to someone taking care of her, so when Denver starts “invading her space,” will sparks fly between them? Denver’s father was bad trouble all around as Denver and his siblings grew up. After he killed Sheena’s father, Denver wishes that he could have stopped what happened because it left the Patrick girls with no parent to raise them. Sheena raised her sisters, and they have now left for lives of their own. Sheena has made a good life for herself working in the local bar, but she remains single by choice. She knows Denver, of course, and has mostly avoided coming into contact with him, though she’s aware of his “helpful ways.” She figures it is time to call in a favor by asking for help building her bar. She never expected that he would not only offer a building on the King ranch but also offer to help her build it. But his help means her dream is getting closer to reality. It also means she starts to have sexy dreams about the man himself. Of course, being strong people, Denver and Sheena can’t help but clash in the sizzling hot COWBOY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE. She is accustomed to being independent and taking care of herself, regardless of any obstacles that may arise. Denver is used to taking care of people, so when Sheena becomes sick, he literally has to force her to stop working—and stay with him so that he can take care of her. The days of his tending to her bring them closer. Their sexual attraction curls around them like smoke in a chimney. They soon can’t deny it. A couple of rounds of sex should scratch the itch…or so they think. The sex between them is beyond their wildest dreams. Their attraction is burning out of control, but is there any kind of future for them? Neither has marriage in their plans. By the end of this tale, will they change their mind? Readers will enjoy learning about Denver and Sheena. They are likeable people and hard workers, even as they’ve dealt with the bad things in their lives. The deeper I got into COWBOY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE, the more I found it hard to put down. You can’t help but root for this couple to find happiness together, and hopefully that includes marriage. This is why I gave it a Perfect 10. This is the final book in the Four Corners Ranch series, and it includes an epilogue that takes place ten years in the future. We catch up with all the characters and see how their lives have changed and expanded. Don’t miss the sizzling hot fun in COWBOY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE. Patti Fischer |
