Romantic Suspense
Palo Alto, California - Present Day
When seventeen year old Kara Kramer goes missing,
her father calls in Ethan Taggart of Gemini Securities while his
ex-wife calls in Toni Crawford, the private investigator who was
able to prove that her now ex-husband was cheating and hiding
money from her. Though the police believe that Kara is a typical
teenager who probably snuck out of the house and didn’t
get back early enough, Toni’s instincts are telling her
that something else is going on. She won’t rest easy until
she’s talked to Kara herself and intends to continue investigating.
She doesn’t need the too handsome, too charming, too full
of himself Ethan Taggart along to keep her company, but Mrs. Kramer
doesn’t trust her husband to keep her informed, so Toni
agrees to keep tabs on Ethan.
Prickly women who all but admit to being computer
nerds, are definitely not Ethan’s type, but there is something
about Toni that attracts him more than any woman he’s ever
met. When his client insists that he keep an eye on Toni while
looking for Kara, Ethan figures it’s no hardship. As Toni
and Ethan uncover the secrets that Kara was keeping from her family,
they also find out things about each other, and the mutual interest
between them explodes into passion. But there is a seventeen year-old
girl who is in more trouble than any of them could have imagined,
and Toni and Ethan are the only ones working to save her.
First up in The Gemini Men series, CAUGHT introduces
readers to Ethan Taggart and his brothers, Derek and Danny, co-owners
of Gemini Securities. Though they grew up fairly wealthy, each
of the men went into the military and, now retired from their
respective posts, they’ve started Gemini. While all of the
brothers are good-looking, Ethan’s charm and charisma have
women flocking to him. So when he finds himself chasing Toni,
he’s a little surprised. From both personal experience and
the work she does proving to her clients that, yes, their husbands
are cheating on them, Toni doesn’t believe that men can
be faithful. A man who, at their first meeting, flirts with her
while wearing another woman’s lipstick on his earlobe, does
not seem a likely candidate to change her mind. Then why is it
so hard to resist him?
Kara’s parents insist that she is a good girl,
but everything Toni and Ethan learn is showing a different side
to the girl – a side that none of them had expected and
may very well have led her into danger. The story is evenly balanced
between the romance brewing between Toni and Ethan, their search
for Kara, and the personal ghosts from both of their pasts.
CAUGHT is an engaging tale that grabs readers right
from the beginning and will keep them enthralled to the very end.
I highly recommend this book, and can’t wait for Derek's
and Danny’s stories.
