| ALIEN'S DAUGHTER - Norah-Jean Perkin Cerridwen Press ISBN: 978-1-41991-237-5 November 2007 Futuristic Romance Oridian Galaxy, the Planet Zura, Zalian Frontier; Chicago, Illinois – 2030 When the sliver of a crystal given to her by her father begins to glow and she is surrounded by a blue light, psychologist Starr Berenger is abducted by people from the planet Zura. She is told that it is her father, Erik Berenger’s, homeworld. Starr has been taken by the Elite -- her uncle orchestrated her kidnapping -- but almost immediately, she is abducted by Rebel uprisers. So much, too much, to absorb. Shocked out of her mind, Starr does not believe until a blue birthmark shows up on her palm. Only Elite outcast, Rebel Konr Dahr, can keep her alive, and even he has an agenda. With ALIEN’S DAUGHTER, Norah-Jean Perkin has a rousing, adventurous, electrifying, and at times, terrifying tale of right and wrong. The ruling government of Zura will do anything to keep its status quo. In turn, the rebels will do anything to change that…making for a new, more democratic society. Starr only wants to go home. Her father was seriously injured, and she was in the hospital to see him when she was taken. And the complications of her relationship with Konr are simply incredible and quite interesting. There are many on Zura who want her life, and the chances of her seeing Earth again are very slim. This is not a run-of-the-mill space opera. Norah-Jean Perkin has a sure, quick style that carries the reader completely into the story. The secondary characters, Esta, Dom, Adar, and others, are believable, and I love the action. There are several twists and turns, and, at times, I wondered if anyone would survive. This is one I would make into a movie. Don’t miss the chance to read ALIEN’S DAUGHTER. Vi Janaway |
