Futuristic Romance
A Tropical Planet in the Far Reaches of Space - the Future
After her ship, the Freedom, malfunctions, Earth League Force
(ELF) recon pilot Cora Daniels finds herself the captive of birdlike
humanoids she calls the Flock. It isn’t long before she
realizes her purpose in the Flock’s compound is to breed
more slaves like the ones they already possess. Determined to
fight for her freedom and resist whatever male they think she’ll
mate with, Cora is shocked to discover that the stud they plan
to breed her with is none other than Alexander “Alex”
Anderly. Alex, another ELF employee and her fiancé, disappeared
on a mission six years ago and had been presumed dead. Suddenly
all of the misfortune Cora has suffered seems worthwhile; she’s
found Alex and she’ll do whatever it takes to get them both
off this Godforsaken planet. One small complication, Alex, now
called Zan, doesn’t remember his life before the Flock.
Zan knows his place in life; he’s a prized pit fighter
and breeding stud. But, there’s something strangely familiar
about Cora, even her odd language strikes a chord. She brings
out strong feelings of possessiveness no other woman has made
him feel. If only the stubborn female would cease and desist with
her talk of “Alex” this and “Alex” that;
it’s enough to drive a man crazy.
Can Cora help Zan to remember who he really is, and even if she
does, is there any escape from the Flock?
STAR CRASH is a vividly written story set in a world populated
by creatures unlike any you’ve ever read about. While humans
as slaves isn’t a unique idea, the author’s spin on
it, other beings who view humans as slightly smarter than we regard
sheep, certainly makes for some interesting reading. Cora is independent,
intelligent and a control freak, all traits that make her an excellent
pilot, but a terrible slave. She quickly makes an enemy among
the Flock, and her attitude infuriates Zan at times. Zan, as Alex,
was scholarly, shy, and quick to give in to anything Cora wanted;
his only rebellion was accepting the mission that landed him here.
But with his memory wiped out and forced to fight for his life,
Zan took his place. Zan is very much a being of the physical;
he’s buff, brave and not afraid to take anyone on, including
a female who doesn’t know her place. When Zan starts to
regain some memory, you have to wonder who will reign supreme
if all his memories come back, Alex, or Zan? Then there are the
children Zan has fathered, will his loyalty belong to them, or
to Cora?
Few of the Flock are indicated by name, but Ansal is one of them.
She isn’t in favor of pit fighting and believes the breeding
of Unar (humans) should be stopped. Unfortunately, her particular
branch of the Flock makes their living on the Unar, so they’re
unlikely to give it up. Then there are some “wild”
Unar who stand out, although they call themselves Erathians. Ro’am
(leader of Clan Rodolf), his son Atier and wife Analyn, as well
as Telan (a wise counselor) and Charic (a young hothead) are chief
among them.
STAR CRASH will have you on the edge of your seat ‘til
the very end. Will Cora and Zan escape the Flock; will he recover
all of his lost memories, and can the Freedom get them off-planet?
It seems apparent that Cora’s love for Alex/Zan is alive
and well, as is his for her, but will they try to escape, and
if he refuses to leave his children, will she agree to stay? So
many questions waiting to be answered, but you’ll never
know what happens if you don’t get your own copy of STAR
CRASH. So what are you waiting for? Go get it!
