Paranormal Fiction

Miami, Florida – Present Day

When Hope Adams receives a call from Benicio Cortez, head of the Cortez Cabal, she is instantly suspicious. Benicio was instrumental in helping her through her last case and, as a result, she owes him a favor. So, although his offer to her to pay off that debt by infiltrating a supernatural gang is intriguing, Hope is looking for the hidden plot. On top of that, she’s still reeling from being left in the dust by Karl Marsten, werewolf and sometime friend. Their one night together changed their relationship, but it seems as if a wolf really can be a dog at times.

As soon as Karl finds out what Benicio has done, he knows it’s time to go home and make amends. Karl's a loner at heart, and Hope is the only person he has ever felt any ties to since the death of his father. But even those ties aren’t enough to stem the fears their night together fostered and Karl took off. But the one thing he won’t do is leave Hope in trouble and, as is always the case, the job Benicio offered has some interesting strings attached to it, ones that are extremely tempting to a young chaos demon. Can Karl keep Hope safe while still protecting his own heart?

Another winner from the pen of Kelley Armstrong, PERSONAL DEMON pits a young woman against her own nature. Hope thrives on chaos. The rush of it is absolutely addicting, enough so that she can easily lose herself in it. But the simple job of infiltrating the gang has turned out to have much larger implications as ties to the Cortez Cabal are revealed. She’s soon in over her head with a not-so-friendly werewolf determined to protect her at her side. The story has several threads running parallel with each other: Hope’s job with the gang, her relationship with Karl, and the twisting dynamics of the Cortez family. Armstrong weaves together a compelling tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens next.

Fans of the series will get a chance to revisit with Lucas Cortez and his wife, Paige Winterbourne, as they are as key to the story as Hope and Karl. Heavy indicators as to the future of the Cortez Cabal are revealed though no final decisions have been made. All this fan can say is: I can’t wait to see what happens next.

PERSONAL DEMON continues the high level of suspense, romance, and paranormal excitement as the previous books in the Women of the Otherworld series and is sure not to disappoint.
