Paranormal Romance New Orleans, Louisiana – Present Day
Maggie Gallagher and her two friends are looking for a good time while
on vacation in the Big Easy. When her fiancé left her humiliatingly
at the altar, Maggie decided to take off with her friends rather than
sulk in her D.C. apartment. Succumbing to Erica and Jo’s crazy
urging to make a wish for a vacation fling on voodoo queen Marie Laveau’s
grave, Maggie is surprised to find herself strangely attracted to a
musician and his music in a bar later that night. Could the magic be
real?
Ren Anthony has no idea what prompted him that evening to play the
piece of music he composed for his father over two hundred years ago
and discarded when it didn’t bring them any closer together. Crazy
as it seems, a woman in the audience seemed to recognize it, but that
fact is lost to the swift attraction Ren feels toward her. If Maggie
is looking for a fling, he’s the man for her.
But what happens when sex becomes something much more and secrets are
revealed?
ANY WAY YOU WANT IT is an intriguing romance. Maggie is sweet, shy,
and insecure about her attractiveness to men, especially after the debacle
with her ex-fiancé. It’s exceedingly hard for her to trust
men, and she can’t understand what a gorgeous musician could ever
see in her. Maggie is not the type of woman Ren has ever been attracted
to before and, as a 200+ year old vampire, there have been a lot of
women in his past. The building of their relationship, while fast --
in the course of two weeks -- still nicely highlights two people trying
to get together despite their personal baggage.
Secondary characters include Maggie’s friends, Ren’s brother,
and his band mates. Although not central to the story, they provide
background and foundation for the blossoming romance. The ending is
a bit abrupt and somewhat undermines the reader’s view of Ren’s
intelligence, but it doesn’t stop your desire to root for this
couple.
Let the music of New Orleans, and Maggie and Ren, take you ANY WAY
YOU WANT IT.
