Paranormal Romance

WooWoo Inn, New Jersey - Present Day

Hired as the new night manager, harpy Daria Abarr hopes to find a powerful entity to return with to Tartarus so that she can rise up in the ranks of harpy. Unfortunately for Daria and her brother, Kal, they are too pretty to be harpies and, in fact, have to use glamour to hide their true faces. When Daria meets Sparkle Stardust, it's almost a huge fight when Sparkle informs Daria that she needs to look more sexy, and Sparkle is just the woman to help her with that. Sexy? Hell, Daria just wants to collect her quarry and return home. Then in walks Declan Mackenzie, and Daria is hit with a wave of heat in her nether parts that has her almost forgetting her true purpose for being there. He would make a perfect specimen to return to Tartarus with. Too bad he isn't cooperating.

Declan Mackenzie arrives at the WooWoo Inn to figure out what evil lurks in the woods and is killing off the council members, returning only their ring finger with the council ring on it. The lovely Daria catches his eye, especially when he "sees" beneath the glamour surrounding her and sees her true self. Ahh...a harpy, and if he's not mistaken, she's looking at him like a prize. No way honey! This man isn't going anywhere...unless it's in her bed. <g> No time for that train of thought right now, though, because something about the entity lurking nearby is familiar. Could it be? Only one way to find out...

ONE BITE STAND...(don't you just love that title? <g>) takes readers on another adventure in the realm of shifters, vampires, and cosmic troublemakers. Sparkle and Ganymede are up to their old tricks, except Ganymede is in deep trouble and, if he's not careful, he's going to lose the woman he loves. Declan is a powerful vampire with powers that give him advantages over some. He isn't looking for a woman, but fate sometimes gets in the way. Daria is sexy as hell, even though she tries to deny it. Declan finds himself drawn to her and can't wait to take her to his bed. Now Daria, on the other hand, is more than willing to play a game of hide and seek with Declan. The only problem is...Sparkle. See they have a bet going on. Whenever Daria gives in to desire, Sparkle gets to make her a little sexier. Talk about some fun times at the inn. And, unfortunately for Daria, each time she walks closer to that line, she gets a few more points taken off her test. Oh yeah...she's being tested as to how good a harpy she is. Personally, I would flip them off, jump Declan, tie him to my bed, and never set foot outside the bedroom again. Because when Declan and Daria finally come together, it's hotter than the sun on a bright July day. Secondary characters include a couple of familiar faces; Trouble, the cute little talking dog who's always in one scrape or another; Ganymede and Sparkle, our cosmic troublemakers, who are going through a little trouble of their own, no thanks to Ganymede's actions; and a new face that I found fascinating...Chill. I'm not exactly sure whom he works for, or what he does, but I do like his style.

Once again Nina Bangs has written a paranormal tale that captivates, brings forth a chuckle or two, has intriguing characters, and is just an all-around fun read. Get your copy of ONE BITE STAND and find out for yourself.
