Paranormal Romance

Wisconsin - Present Day

Garnet Lacey can barely ride her bicycle for the blinding light of the sun glinting on the rock on her hand. Truth be told, she can hardly even believe the ring is on her finger. How did she, Garnet, earth-loving Witch, end up engaged to a vampire? Ok, fine, she can’t ignore the fact that she harbors Lilith, a fierce goddess, inside her, nor that Lilith, using Garnet’s body, handily destroyed some of the Vatican's hunters and FBI who were looking for Garnet. Since it’s what brought the wonderfully gorgeous Sebastian into her life, Garnet isn’t complaining. But marriage??

Add to her angst the disappearance of said fiancé and the appearance of his very questionable stepson, and Garnet is off on another adventure. Did Sebastian run off with the cute blonde from their first coven meeting who practically ate him with her eyes, or was he kidnapped? Could the Vatican hunters have realized that she’s still alive? And why is that dog following her?

So many questions, so little time. Garnet is still trying to process her answer to the Big Question when all of these others pop into the picture in Tate Hallaway’s ROMANCING THE DEAD. This third book in the series has the same fun spirit as the previous two books, though the premise and plot are somewhat scary. Ms. Hallaway uses a light hand with her characters that keeps the story firmly in the romantic space. Readers will get a chance to visit with their favorite secondary characters, including Izzie and William, not to mention the addition of a few new folks whom I can see easily reappearing in future tales.

Fans of the Garnet Lacey series will certainly not be disappointed, and those new to this piece of paranormal escapism I’m sure will soon be fans as well. It’s highly recommended that you read the books in order to understand the background of the characters, but in the meantime, please enjoy ROMANCING THE DEAD.
