Romantic Suspense
Ludington, a Small Town outside Chicago, Present
Day
Suzanna Dirkston has just received news of her father’s
accidental drowning. Her former fiancé, David Lancaster,
tracked her down in her secluded cabin to pass on the news. She
had gone to the cabin after arguing with her father about her
career as a romance writer.
After coming home for her father’s funeral,
she regrets the argument that left a wedge in their relationship.
Suzanna finds that her friends and relatives are not at all what
they seem to be, and she wonders if her father’s accident
was truly an accident. She begins having strange visions of death
and hopes that she isn’t losing her mind.
Now Suzanna is determined to investigate the circumstances
of her father’s death. Everyone falls under suspicion, especially
her late father’s business manager and right-hand man, Grant
Fenton. After all, Grant had the most to gain from her father’s
death. The will stipulates that Suzanna must marry Grant within
one month, or else the family’s business and holdings will
be sold to strangers. But if she doesn’t marry Grant, then
David and her half brother, Colin, will lose their business.
Will Suzanna defy her father’s last wishes
or sentence her relatives to poverty? How can she choose between
David’s love and David’s financial success? Suzanna
is a likeable charter who must make her own decisions regarding
love and family.
Maureen McMahon’s SHADOWS IN THE MIST is a
