Carrie Alexander Boston, Massachusetts – Present Day Brooke Winfield has always been the conservative daughter of one of Boston’s finest families. She currently works as a display designer at a department store, and one night while working, she tries on one of the mannequin outfits for fun. While dressed in the sexy dress, Brooke witnesses a motorcycle accident. The injured man is one gorgeous hunk of a man that she learns is former baseball superstar David Carrera. Soon she’s riding on the back of his motorcycle and continuing to dress in daring outfits to pretend to David she’s free and wild. But with the appearance of David -- and his crash -- her life may never be the same. David’s reputation is that he is always unconventional, but Brooke soon learns that he puts on a happy-go-lucky face for the world, and deep down is a complex man. Will Brooke be the one to unlock his secrets? What about Brooke…is being wild the real her, or just something temporary? David has his reasons for walking away from the Boston Red Sox, but he isn’t ready to say why, which doesn’t please the fans, especially since the damn Yankees are in the playoffs and the Sox aren’t. The chemistry is hot between David and Brooke, as is the sexily funny banter that is a mark of a Carrie Alexander story. I lost track of how many times I chuckled as I read MY FRONT PAGE SCANDAL. And, not to give away any spoilers but, whew, grab the ice bucket, as readers will also get a blazingly hot story.
